My friend Rosemary Harris Lytle asked me to kiss the ground of Africa until she could get here. Rosemary, it took until our last full day, but here's the kiss, a goodbye kiss.
I cannot remember the first time that it occurred to me how much I loved Africa; a place I was discovering because I was discovering myself and a place that I fell in love with sight unseen.
The Motherland Africa!
I cannot remember the first time that I decided that if I ever got there, the first thing I would do is fall on my knees and kiss the ground!
Maybe not at the airport -- but in some sacred beautiful spot, like you did my Dear Friend/Other Pastor.
This is a beautiful photo! Thank you!
Science has shown that we are all descended from Africa which makes our connection and this photo just all the sweeter.
I just needed someone to kiss the ground til I get there. As you know, C-Rose didn't fulfill my ground-kissing request when she visited Ghana and Senegal.
But now I feel one step closer.
Your blog is fabulous and the trip sounds like the blessing of a lifetime! So glad to have the Broadbent-Bells home!

PS -- Being surprised by you and your Dad worshiping at Christ Temple on Sunday is the icing on a big ole beautiful cake!
